Culture, History, Language and Government (2 credits)

THIS COURSE IS APPROVED FOR PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE MINNESOTA HUMAN RELATIONS REQUIREMENT.

This module focuses on American Indian culture, language, history, and government. The course will help students understand how dehumanization, bias, and discrimination are barriers to creating culturally supportive learning environments. The course will help educators to make sound decisions in curricula, lesson and unit/course planning, classroom management, and discipline. The goal is to create culturally–supportive learning environments within a proficiency-oriented framework.
